We want to enrich the lives of children by reconnecting them with their musical heritage of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. This goal is being reached with many children but we need the encouragement and financial support of the community to continue this endeavor. We hope you will help support YAM as we teach students to carry this program forward. Secure online donations of any amount can be made through PayPal (you do not have to create a PayPal account). You write a check for POSAM and send to Betty McDaniel at 792 Holly Springs School Rd., Pickens, SC, 29671. However you donate, please let us know if you if you want the funds to contribute to a specific fundraising campaign. Donations are tax deductible. You can make a one time donation or consider participating in one of our amazing fundraisers. Read on to explore your options. All donations are tax deductible.
Contribute to the Ryan Hood Memorial Musician Fund
The Ryan Hood Memorial Musician Fund was established to provide scholarships for young musicians in the YAM program. Ryan Hood left this world when he was 20. He was a brilliant young musician from Irmo who was passionate about helping those less fortunate. Ryan, gifted in both guitar and piano, was the son of Charles and Anita Hood, who have strong ties in the Pickens area. Charles grew up in Pickens and was a 1979 graduate of Pickens High School, and both are now part-time Pickens residents. This scholarship fund will keep alive Ryan Hood's musical legacy and his passion for helping others. Please reference this fund when making a donation.
